Secure A Ship Improving Commercial Vessel & Super Yacht Security through Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) 24hr Response & Support

The Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) is part of the ISPS code and is a system that contributes to the International Maritime Organizations (IMO)’s efforts to strengthen and improve maritime security for Commercial Vessels and Super Yachts. Currently all vessels over 500gt are required by the IMO to have an SSAS fitted.
Secure A Ship can implement and manage the required and recommended quarterly testing of the SSAS alongside providing an integrated back up service in the event of an emergency situation varying from a crew member injury to kidnap & ransom and vessel seizure.
The SSAS system use satellites to transmit an alert message through Inmarsat C which is sent to a competent authority. Secure A Ship will then respond to the alert and manage the situation adhering to a mutually agreed process and procedure.
